What is an Advisor?

An advisor is any person who has been selected by and agreed to assist a student during the university conduct process.

Who can serve as an Advisor?

An advisor or support person may be defined as: a friend, a family member, a member of the university community or an attorney. An advisor cannot be anyone directly involved in the situation who may also be serving as a witness regarding the matter. Before an advisor can attend a meeting with the student, the student must sign a Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) waiver. This can be done in the Office of Student Accountability prior to the meeting. Students may also complete this form ahead of their meeting and email it to accountability@uark.edu
